Founded in 1827 by Emperor Dom Pedro I, the University of São Paulo Law School is one of Brazil's first two law schools and has been a cornerstone institution in shaping the nation's legal and political landscape for nearly two centuries.
Located in São Paulo's historic city center at Largo São Francisco since its establishment, the school has educated numerous Brazilian presidents, Supreme Court ministers, and government leaders while maintaining Brazil's first public library with over 500,000 volumes still accessible to the public today.
As part of the University of São Paulo since 1934, USP Law School currently comprises nine specialized departments with more than 150 faculty members serving 460 undergraduate and numerous graduate students annually, and is consistently ranked among Latin America's leading legal institutions by Times Higher Education and QS World University Rankings.
The school's global reach is reflected in its direct academic cooperation agreements with over 50 universities across more than 20 countries, complemented by USP's network of 450+ international partnerships worldwide.
