AIRPORT AND TRANSPORTATION
São Paulo is served by two main airports: Guarulhos International Airport (GRU), located approximately 25 kilometers from the city center, and Congonhas Airport (CGH), situated within the city limits. Most international flights arrive via Guarulhos, which handles both international and domestic connections, while Congonhas primarily serves domestic routes.

Transportation from the airport to the hotel

After retrieving your luggage and exiting customs, go to the Guarucoop service counter to request a taxi to your hotel. The fare is fixed. Expect to pay around R$190 (USD$35) for a ride to a hotel in the Avenida Paulista area (October/2025). Payment can be made in cash or by card.
In addition, transport apps also operate legally in Brazil: Uber and 99 are the best-known apps. If you choose to use one of them, request your ride through the app on your own mobile phone. The departure area for rides requested through apps at Guarulhos Airport is also close to the departure area for official taxis. The Uber app is the same as the one that can be used in other parts of the world.
Under no circumstances should you accept offers of transport from people who identify themselves as app drivers without using the official apps on your own mobile phone.
